This is a little outdated but I wanted to throw this out there because I was hoping someone would do this!

One of our own ~JohnRaptor was on the Conlangery Podcast! Congratulations!

The hosts discussed his conlang: "Fairylang" with him and it made quite an interesting discussion!
I'm so happy to hear when these kind of things happen. I can't wait to see who might put forth their conlang next! Be warned they've said multiple times that they are auxlang biased so I don't know if I will be offering up my conlangs anytime soon but you never know!

Any Conlang related goals for 2013, my lovely langers?

~JohnRaptor's response to being on Conlangery:

"First of all, it was nerve wracking. I'm fairly new* to conlanging and not nearly as knowledgeable in linguistics as the hosts, so I was afraid I'd sound dumb or like I didn't belong on the show. But all of the host were very nice and not at all condescending, and according to my family, I sounded fine.

I had kind of run low on steam working on FairyLang, but doing the show has given me a second wind, so I'm updating the blog more often and working on my first FairyLang video."

I thought they were artlang biased. The only auxlangs they've featured are Esperanto, Volapük and Interlingua. Either way, I'm getting close to having enough grammar to put Hra'anh forth. I just need to develop my lexicon, which I have no idea how to do without translating freaking everything.

I'll have to listen to it again. Problem is that I need a word generator; things are getting too uniform. And my phonotactics and phonaesthetics are too complicated for generators I've tried, so I'll have to write my own, which is currently a bit beyond my programming expertise. I can do it; it'll just take more time than I have.

I've tried Awkwords before, and I didn't like it. The other one looks similar but with a different UI. What I want to do is build my phonotactic and phonaesthetic rules into the generator so that I don't have to try and figure out other people's systems and how to get them to work for mine, and I can't be arsed to tweak things post-generation. I supposed that's pretty much shooting myself in the foot, but I'm a lazy bones. I guess I need to stop being so lazy and get going.

Same here!

I want to start on a language that's further from English - maybe play around with some things I haven't tried yet. Like agglutinative languages, or logograms.

Ahhhh, I've noticed mine get weirder and more complex as I go along. It'll come with time!

Logograms are insane. I think I tried one once, but it didn't turn out too well. The language I have right now is slightly agglutinative, but not too much.
